FORT WORTH STOCKYARDS

The Fort Worth Stockyards isn’t so much a tourist site as it is a way of life. With a never-ending list of fun things to see and do, you can truly make a day of the Stockyards, and still not get to see everything.

The 98-acre district, just north of the central business district, was a former livestock market that began in the late 19th century. With the introduction of railroads, this part of Texas became a crucial livestock center, becoming the number one place to buy, sell, and slaughter cattle, sheep, and other ranch animals.

Now, the Stockyards have blossomed into an entertainment, historic, and shopping district, with plenty of venues to pick up cowboy boots and other memorabilia, as well as museums and amazing food. So put on your cowboy hat and saddle up for a lesson in Texas history at the Stockyards!

WATER GARDENS

There’s nothing like soaking up the relaxing sounds of rushing water in the midst of a bustling downtown metropolis, and that’s exactly what the Fort Worth Water Gardens offer. Whether you need to rest your feet while taking walking tour or grab some amazing photos of your time in Fort Worth, the water gardens are a must-see stop.

Planted just across from the Fort Worth Convention Center, the Water Gardens were designed by Phillip Johnson, and have become a treasured celebration of architecture and engineering to all passersby. For art enthusiasts, nature lovers, and sightseers, make sure to take a trip to the Water Gardens!

PATRICK CATHEDRAL

Whether you’re a history buff, architecture lover, or just enjoy observing the beauty of stained glass windows, you don’t want to miss St. Patrick Cathedral. Included in the National Register of Historic Places, this cathedral was dedicated in 1892, and is even featured in the 1990 film Problem Child!
